Early Life - Pennsylvania

Farmhouse Born

Daryl Paul Kennedy was born on January 24, 1955 in the “music” room of his Grandparent’s farmhouse in Porter Township, Pennsylvania. He was the third child and second son of Bernard Paul Kennedy and Alice LaRue (Wiant) Kennedy, who met shortly after WWII on a sidewalk in downtown New Bethlehem. They danced that night; a dance that lasted 61 years until death did them part. Daryl was the younger brother of James “Jim” Kennedy and Donna Kennedy, and older brother to Jay Kennedy.

Childhood Memories

Shortly after Daryl was born, the Kennedy family had expanded to five, and had now outgrown the confines of the music room at the farmhouse. The music room had a large piano player with paper scrolls, with which you had to pump the piano pedals with your feet to make the music happen. Daryl’s mother, a Sunday school teacher, would play the piano as entertainment for Daryl and his siblings, especially during the winter months…
